ALDI – National Energy Manager

Energy & Technical Services has worked with ALDI since 2012 to provide technical engineering expertise, energy consultancy and energy management. Acting as the National Energy Manager for ALDI Stores UK & Ireland, we are the trusted advisors for all energy related matters. Since our appointment, we have initiated and undertaken a number of energy saving projects and successfully implemented an ISO50001 accredited energy management system.

Challenge

Our Energy & Carbon Saving Team is a core component in the delivery of our service to ALDI and is integral to the management of energy across the estate. Our ECST team supports multiple stakeholders including Store Managers, Area Managers, Maintenance Managers and property teams, to resolve various store operational issues and support the successful delivery of new projects and technologies.

Added Value / Achievements

In addition to our implementing an ISO50001 accredited energy management system and identifying and implementing ongoing energy and carbon efficiency interventions through a M&T and Helpdesk services, we have project managed the delivery of a number of technology-based energy saving initiatives, providing additional savings and resilience to the ALDI estate.

Harris Lamb – Mechanical & Electrical Performance Specification

Successful office fit-out project with upgraded VRF heat pump cooling, LED lighting and heat recovery ventilation. Improved energy efficiency and occupant comfort led to an increase in the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating from C to B.

Midcounties Co-Operative – ESOS Phase 3 Compliance

Midcounties Co-operative achieved their ESOS Phase 3 compliance successfully with a total of 346,650kWh opportunities identified and resulting in 71,896 Kg of emissions to be saved.

Woodie’s – Decarbonisation & Energy Performance Audit

Our proposed photovoltaic solution can enable the production of circa 70,000kWh of electricity annually. There is also a suggested destratification system, achieving savings of up to 20% in heating costs.
